Our process... we like it simple and straight-forward.
Certified Means Higher Quality
Our homes are certified by environmental agencies including:
-
Built Green, Level 4 or 5 (5 being the highest)
-
Energy Star Certified
-
NAHB Green Building Standard
-
Department of Energy's Building America program
What Makes a Home Green?
A good house with a handful of good products doesn't guarantee your home will be green and energy efficient.
To achieve a truly high-efficiency home that raises the bar on performance, health and comfort...you have to choose the right system.
Systematically Green and Energy Efficient
We use a specific system of products that work together in each one of our homes to make sure that your home is:
-
Airtight (this eliminates drafts and keeps energy bills low)
-
Reduces thermal bridging (proper insulation prevents heat leaking through the walls and reduces humidity in your walls)
-
Higher R-Values (this prevents heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer)
And we've gone out of our way to ensure that extensive third-party testing has been conducted on our green building construction methods.
Third Party Verification
We like to use the services of eCoe Company to evaluate our homes, and verify their energy efficiency. Advising us of any areas in the home that do not meet our standards to reach our level of efficiency. Networking with Elizabeth Coe allows us to review and make improvements from the test results findings. We are fortunate to have this relationship with Elizabeth as she is a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA), a LEED Green Associate, and a Certified HERS rater who has been in the construction industry for over 15 years. Certified Excellence
Although certifying is optional, we want to verify the quality of every home we build.
In fact, Washington State University's independent study predicts that our homes require 60-70% less fuel consumption than the amount you would use in an ordinary house.
